Although they look like similar words we identified with clear evidence that there is a difference between the two concepts. So in this chapter, we will have An idea about which concept comes first.

Selection and recruitment are two distinct procedures. The first is recruitment, which is based on the principles of attracting, choosing, and preparing suitable applicants for the selection stage. After that, a decision is taken to interview and assess the contenders to select a candidate for the position.

Two of the most crucial phrases used in this process are recruitment and selection. Searching for suitable workers and encouraging them to apply for positions is known as recruitment while selecting the best applicant from a pool of potential candidates is known as selection.

According to Saleem, A (2023) Recruitment involves Creating job listings, putting them on job boards, social media, and other platforms, and boosting the company's reputation are all part of the recruitment process. Hiring managers actively look for applicants who fit the job requirements through networking and headhunting, which are additional components of recruitment. Further, he mentions that Selection involves a set of actions to find the best applicant for the position. Generally, this procedure entails reviewing resumes, setting up in-person or over-the-phone interviews, giving assessments, contacting references, and haggling over pay and benefits.
